Varadero & Havana Top Cuba Destinations For Health & Travel Insurance
Cuban authorities have announced that all visitors to Varadero, Havana and all tourist areas of Cuba must have a travel health insurance policy approved by or purchased directly from the Cuban government Insurance company called ASISTUR S.A.
Tourist traveling to Cuba must have coverage that guarantees that in case of any accident that Cuba’s ability to treat them at low cost and maintain its free health system for Cuban people. New law states clearly that all travelers to Cuba must have a medical insurance.
Travel and Health insurance must now include health and medical expenses or a complete coverage travel insurance medical expenses policy, with cover inside of Cuba. The Cuban insurance health and travel policy should be bought by Cuban insurance companies when you enter at the Havana or Varadero airport, Varadero port or marina's.
Health care and travel insurances by Cuban insurance company ASSISTUR S.A. and by most of the international insurance companies have 24 hours/365 days coverage during Tourist Assistance Services inside of Cuba.
Varadero Tourism official say that 75% percent of tourist who visit Varadero, Havana, Trinidad, Cayo Coco, and other popular destinations in Cuba have Travel or Health insurance provided by International Insurance companies of their country of residence that cover most medical expenses while in Cuba.

American citizens that travel directly to Cuba must purchase their travel &health insurance policy directly from Cuban insurance company through a network of agencies associated to HavanaTur with offices across Cuba.
As soon as tourist arrive in Cuba airports they must show proof of their insurance policy with certificate of insurance or travel assistance card, which covers their holiday in Cuba.
In case of medical emergency, the Cuban Health care System guarantees primary medical care via a network of medical clinics and hospitals all over Cuba and the main tourist areas near the offices of Cuban Ministry of Tourism.
